Our vision is to regulate the profession and the practice of nursing and midwifery in the country.

The Nurses & Midwives Council was established by an act of Parliament 1989 but started full operations in 1991 in Banjul and it's the only institution in the country that licenses nurses and midwives for pratices as qualified professionals.
